Senior Project Managers provide project management capabilities for software development projects. Senior Project Managers are part of the Project Management virtual team and report into the Technical Director for all aspects of project governance but may report into other senior managers related to their other specialities and for HR purposes.
Senior Project Managers are expected to implement Company’s Project Management Policy for the projects for which they are responsible. Senior Project Managers generate project reports and keep all stakeholders informed with respect to progress, risk and dependencies.
As well as managing projects, senior project managers are responsible for managing more junior members of staff ensuring that they have the opportunity to develop professionally within Company -Creating weekly project status reports and sending to internal and external stakeholders.
-Triaging UAT defects.
-Running daily project stand up meetings.
-Ensuring project tasks are identified and logged in Unfuddle.
-Ensuring that requirements, designs, wireframes, test scripts and other project artefacts go through the appropriate internal and external review process as defined in SDLC.doc.
-Ensuring the project passes daily Unfuddle Health Checks.
-Monitoring Unfuddle task burn down and reporting on and adjusting for discrepancies.
-Building and maintaining good relations between all project team members and stakeholders.
-Creating and maintaining the Project Schedule.
-Modifying the Project Schedule based on information regarding task burn down and other factors influencing the accuracy of effort estimates.
-Ensuring that project resources are booked with the Technical Director, Design Director, Test Manager and other department heads.
-Ensuring change is captured and managed including creating change requests and escalating change to the Commercial Manager.
-Ensuring risks, issues and dependencies are tracked in the project tracker and communicated to the client.
-Conducting internal Post Implementation Reviews with the project team.
-Conducting WIP meetings with clients and reporting on outcomes.
-Booking test cycles.
-Ensuring post release checklist is completed.
